PLN’s Diesel-fueled Power Plants Ready to Absorb B20

State-owned electricity company PT PLN welcomed the Government`s policy to expand mandatory use of biodiesel B20 Public Service Obligation (PSO) and non-PSO sectors. PLN will purchase 2.26 million kiloliters of 20 percent blended biodiesel ( B20 ) for its diesel-fueled power plants. Those quota will be enough to meet the demand for its diesel-fueled power plants. Currently, PLN has 4.435 diesel-fueled power plants with 4.077 megawatt (MW) in capacity. For those diesel-fueled power plants, PLN will need 2,2 “This year, we are ready to absorb 2.26 million B20. Starting from 1 September, PLN will absorb 2.26 million B20,” said PLN Eastern Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara business director Djoko Rahardjo Abumanan at the Coordinating Minister’s office in Jakarta, (23/8/2018) as reported by MetroTV News.com. Currently, PLN buys biodiesel from three suppliers, Pertamina, AKR Corporindo, dan PT Kutilang Paksi Mas (KPM). `At this moment, Pertamina is the only supplier who is ready to supply B20 to PLN. But, since the government issued Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 68/2018, all suppliers must be ready,” Djoko said. ***
