The Indonesia Oil Palm Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS) has once again organized Talk Show for Millennial on Palm Oil, a series of promotional events for youngsters. This time, the event was held in Benteng Vredeburg, Yogyakarta, Saturday (31/8/2019), with the theme “Jogja Amazing Race Sawit Hunt 2019”.
This is the third event held following similar ones in Bogor and Jakarta. Hundreds of youngsters, mostly students, enthusiastically joined the event as it provided recent information about palm oil. The participants came from universities and schools in Yogyakarta, like UGM, UPN, UNI UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Instiper, etc. The talk show was structured to be strictly about education on sustainable-related issues in palm oil sector. Many people, especially youngsters, do not know exactly about sustainable palm oil and some of them receive wrong information.
Apart from talk show, participants also joined entertaining activities on any aspect of palm oil. The event, organized in collaboration with Warta Ekonomi magazine, had the presence of several speakers including Speaker of the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (Gapki) Tofan Mahdi, Senior Food Technologies Garudafood Brury Wijaya, and Puteri Indonesia 2018 from Yogyakarta, Yolanda.
