MINISTRY of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) will appoint biodiesel 30% (B30) suppliers by October 2019, as soon as the government completes the road test.
JAKARTA--Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) will appoint biodiesel 30% (B30) suppliers by October 2019, as soon as the government completes the road test. Head of Research and Development of MEMR Dadan Kusdiana said that by making the decision on October 2019, the Government still has time to prepare logistics for distribution in 2020.
Currently, MEMR is carrying out a road test over the usage of B30. “Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources wanted to make decision on this matter by October 2020 so that we have still have room to prepare logistics,” Dadan said in Jakarta, Thursday (5/9/2019).
Adrian Feby Misna, Director of Bioenergy at MEMR added that government decision on B30 suppliers will depend on import recommendation made by the Research and Development Centre for Oil and Gas (Lemigas).
For now, she had no information on how many suppliers had recommendation for fuels import in 2020. Indonesia currently has a biodiesel mandate of a 20% bio-content, known as the B20 program, and is aiming to implement a 30% bio-content mandate by January 2020. ***
