Road Test for B30 Carried Out on August 2018

MINISTRY of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) is expected to carry out road test for fuel with 30% biodiesel content (B30) in the transportation sector by this August. It will take six months to do the test, starting from August 2018  to March 2019. “Based on the roadmap we won’t implement B30 until 2020 and the road test starts 2019. But we accelerate B30 now because the country is running a trade deficit and also we have to maintain energy stability,” said Andriah Feby Misna, Director of Bioenergy of Directorate General of of New, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation of MEMR as quoted by Bisnis.com. The road test will run to reach 40 thousands kilometer in the route of Serpong-Tol Jagorawi-Puncak-Cianjur-Padalarang-Cileunyi-Bandung-Lembang-Subang-Cikampek-Pamanukan-Karawang-Cibitung-Serpong. If the test succeed, the government will review and finalize SNI specification which is projected to do on January-May 2019. Meanwhile, to implement the use of B20 and B30 on industry and heavy equipment, MEMR has invited all industrial enterprises to discuss their preparation. ***
