BANGKINANG—Politeknik Kampar, a polytechnic institution in Indonesian Province of Riau produced hand sanitizer to be distributed freely in an effort to fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

The sanitation products were initially produced in its engineering laboratory on 18 March 2020 by lecturers, instructors, and laboratory technicians. These liquid products were packaged in a bottle of 35 ml.

Several students of the college went down to the street to hand sanitizer to people. The main target of distribution were people on the street, people at houses of worship, restaurants, markets, and offices.

Politeknik Kampar is an educational institution majoring in palm oil that has human resources with good scientific competences to formulate hygiene products such as sanitizer as recommended by WHO. *** (Source: Politeknik Kampar)
