The Indonesian Oil Palm Estate Fund (BPDPKS) held an Town Hall Meeting to redefine a vision and mission statement to reach its objectives. The Strategic Agility themed meeting, which was held at BPDPKS office, Wednesday (17/10/2018), was believed to be important for the oil palm fund management agency to improve management aspect. President Director of BPDPKS Dono Boestami delivered a message to all staff and board of directors about the importance of strategic agility in human resources management in BPDPKS. “Requirement to BPDPKS to play a more significant role is so high lately that we need to improve our capabilities in all aspects. That’s why I called the meeting to build common understanding about our vision and mission as well as our duties,” Dono said. He took BPDPKS role in implementation of the expanded B20 mandatory program as an example. According to him, BPDPKS is demanded not only to be supporter but also to actively play more strategic role. “We used to be in a position to back up all government’s program because the one who played major role was the ministry.  From now on, we have to actively play more significant role. That’s why I demand to strengthen our human capital,” Dono said. All government program has goals to achieve in order to maintain the country’s stability in a fragile global economic condition. In such circumstances, BPDPKS is expected to work harder and should not continue with bussiness as usual. “The expanded B20 program, for instance, is vitally important for the country since it is a solution to the current account deficit problem.” `` However, to give a better and deeper understanding of a current related issues, the Town Hall Meeting also presented some management and human resources experts. PT Fed Insight Indonesia, for instance, delivered a presentation about the importance of improving vision and mission of an institution to adapt to changes. “BPDPKS must be proactive and adopt a business process to initiate ministries’s duties in order to speed up implementation process of every government’s program. This is important given the fact that there are a lot of issues that don’t need to be directly handled by the ministries.” Erie Prakoso, a senior consultant of PT Fed Insight Indonesia, said. Meanwhile, Mohammad Hamsal, a business management expert, delivered a presentation concerning the importance of business agility for institution like BPDPKS to respond changes. “A lot of companies collapsed because they failed to adapt to change but many of them succeeded because they could adapt to change by implementing a strategic move. This is the time to embrace agility,” Hamsal said. **
