MINISTRY of Communication and Informatics (MCI) collaborated with Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MEF) set up a media centre to provide information on forest and lands fires in Indonesia.

The media centre, located at MCI building, is expected to be active from 23 to 30 September 2019. “In trying to handle the wildfires, it is deemed necessary for ministries and government institutions to work together. We provide a media centre to share any information on the fires,” Director at MCI for Information and Communication on Economics and Maritime Affairs, Septriana Tangkary said in Jakarta, Friday (20/9/2019).

He said, MCI will provide information content and other communication tools, whereas MEF will provide data necessary to help public find out information concerning the wildfires.

Chief of Public Relations at MEF, Djati Witjaksono said that the government of Indonesia has commitment for environmental protection. He also praised support from MCI to share information international media. “The world needs to know about the government commitment to protect environment.” ***
