IMPLEMENTATION of sustainable practices in Indonesian palm oil industry have achieved impresive progress. Data released by Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) have showed that sustainable palm oil produced in the world has reached 14,31 million tons and of 7,46 million tons of them or 52% came from Indonesia. `Oil palm plantations in Indonesia have been practicing sustainable principles. There are many national oil palm plantations have already got RSPO certificate, Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) or the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC), ` Executive Director of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (Gapki), Mukti Sardjono said in a ‘Success With Sustainable Palm Oil’-themed discussion forum in Jakarta, Thursday (25/10/2018). Director of RSPO for Indonesia, Tiur Rumondang explained that RSPO is part of Indonesia’s strength in producing palm oil. RSPO is expected to make sure to the global market to consume Indonesian palm oil. “The certificates awarded to Indonesian oil palm plantation are based on independent audit conducted by national certification firms,” Tiur said. Rudi Lumuru from NGO Links also said that sustainable practices help Indonesian to improve economic development.  “Oil palm plantations across the country has been part of solutions to improve people’s standard of living,” Rudi said. ***
