BPDKS Signed Deal on Palm Oil Research Funds

The Indonesian Palm Oil Estate Fund (BPDPKS) signed a deal on the funding of research and development of palm plantations with several research institutes on April 23rd at Jakarta. The funding is to follow up the second and third year of research. BPDPKS has been funding palm researches on different sectors since 2015 as a part of its function. In early 2018, BPDPKS has finished evaluating the progress of research conducted in 2015-2016 and 32 researches will continue to be funded. The research funded are from Palm Research Center (PPKS), LPPM IPB, Technology Service Center BPPT, Indonesia Biotechnology and Bioindustry Research Center (PPBBI), Faculty of Engineering UI, LPPM ITB, LPPM Andalas University, LPPM Tanjungpura University, LPPM University of Riau, Energy Studies Center UGM, and Masyarakat Perkelapasawitan Indonesia (MAKSI). Other than the 32 researches, BPDPKS signed on four other deals: on funding the palm 3-MCPD Ester and Glycydil Ester content mitigation issue in Indonesia with SEAFAST Center LPPM IPB. The research is necessary to prepare mitigation strategy on the issue and it is supported by the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy Affairs and the Ministry of Industry. Three researches supporting the Rail Test held by Indonesia Railway Company (PT KAI) in order to test the utilization of B20 on trains are also signed on by BPDPKS with the favor of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. ***
