The Council of Palm Oil Producing Coutries (CPOPC) has appointed Malaysian Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Yusof Bin Basiron to serve as the Executive Director of CPOPC for the 2019-2022. The change came as the former chairmanship lasted on 31 May 2019. Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Yusof Bin Basiron is a scientist and an influential public figure in the Malaysian palm oil industry. He was the CEO of the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC). A press release issued by Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Wednesday (19/6/2019), stated that Mohammad Jaaffar Bin Ahmad has been appointed Director of Strategy and Policy CPOPC.  Representatives from Indonesia will serve as Deputy Executive Director and Director of Sustainability and Smallholders Development who are yet to be selected. CPOPC is an intergovernmental organization for palm oil producing countries, established on 21 November 2015. Indonesia and Malaysia, the world’s biggest palm oil producers, are the founding father of the Council. ***
