Another gathering was held in Palembang, South Sumatera (10/10/2018) to socialize implementation of the expanded B20 mandatory program. The event organized by the Indonesian Oil Palm Estate Fund (BPDPKS) was open to the public and also attended by stakeholders in biodiesel sectors, included fuel and biofuel companies. The event which was opened by Robert Heri, Head of Energy and Mineral Resources Office of South Sumatera Provincial Government, presented speakers who delivered various presentations concerning implementation of government’s program to expand the use of B20 both in public service obligation (PSO) or non-PSO sectors. “We fully support the program to expand the use of fuel with 20% of biodiesel content in PSO and non-PSO sectors since it can be an alternative to fossil fuel for alleviating world energy crises. I hope South Sumatera always has enough biodiesel supply,“ Robert said in his speech. Bioenergi Director at Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation of Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Andriah Feby Misnah who delivered opening speech, reiterated her view that socialization process is important to help people understand importance of the government’s policy. The flavour of this event was not only captured by the contents which resulted from presentations given by invited speakers, but also from audiences. Attendees were also welcomed to share their experience in using B20. Some of them shared that B20 is safe for diesel engines. “Socialization process is suited for anyone who want to gain knowledge concerning use of B20,” Andriah said. B20 Socialization program was organized by BPDPKS to help people understand the expanded B20 mandatory policy better. The two event has been held in Batam and Palembang and is also scheduled to be held in Surabaya, Makassar, and Balikpapan. ***
