Palm Oil Companies Contribute to Fight Against COVID-19
Indonesian palm oil companies have been starting a number of initiatives in response to help limit the spread of the COVID-19. Recently, the companies donated hygiene and sanitation equipment to be distributed to agricultural workers.
JAKARTA—Indonesian palm oil companies have been starting a number of initiatives in response to help limit the spread of the COVID-19. Recently, the companies donated hygiene and sanitation equipment to be distributed to agricultural workers.
The companies delivered 8.000 masks and 10.000 soap bars to Agriculture Ministry to be distributed to anyone in need. Secretary General of the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (Gapki) Kanya Lakshmi Sidarta said masks and soap bars were needed to stop the spread of COVID-19.
The donations were received by Director General of Plantations at the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono, Thursday (9/4/2020). “I hope our donations will help people to fight against COVID-19,” Lakshmi said.
Recipients would also include internal group at the Agriculture Ministry as well as the community. “We will disclose any details about the distribution of the donations immediately. We will distribute them to anyone in need,” Kasdi said.
Apart from donation from Gapki, 10.000 soap bars were also donated by Musim Mas Group. Earlier, Gapki also donated similar sanitation equipment to Ministry of Environtment and Forestry. **
