COORDINATING Minister of Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution invited Malaysia and China to increase their biodiesel mandatory program as Indonesia does with B20 mandatory program.
Darmin will talk about the issue at the Ministerial Meeting of Council of Palm oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) in Malaysia, (8/11/2018). CPOPC is an intergovernmental organization to build mutual cooperation among palm oil producing nations.
Darmin said he will invite Malaysia and China to use B20 (a blend of 20 percent by volume biodiesel with 80 percent by volume petroleum diesel). Currently, Malaysia plans to implement B10 by mid 2019.
“We are going to cooperate with Malaysia. We ask Malaysia to increase its biodiesel mandatory to B20, and the we are going to talk to China to use B5,” Darmin said in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta, Tuesday (6/11/2018).
A part from increasing use of palm oil, a blend of biodiesel and fuels is also another way to act against negative campaign on palm oil, particulary in the European Union. ***
