PRESIDENT Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has once again suggested universities to open faculty on palm oil and coffee as the two commodities have a big potency. “Our country has big potency such as palm oil, but there’s no palm oil faculty in universities.

PRESIDENT Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has once again suggested universities to open faculty on palm oil and coffee as the two commodities have a big potency. “Our country has big potency such as palm oil, but there’s no palm oil faculty in universities. We also have coffe, but Indonesia doesn’t have the faculty,” President Joko Widodo said in Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan (STIKES) Muhammadiyah in Lamongan, East Timur, Monday (19/11/2018). The President recommended the faculty to study and learn from production to marketing process of the commodity. “Why don’t we have a coffee faculty that studies whole aspect from growing, fertilizing,  planting, post harvesting to production process and then we can produce our own original product.” The President called faculties in every universities to respond his suggestion by formulating new research agenda. He reminded that the world has really changed and faculties that has been running for 30-40 years must make suitable for the new condition. *** (Source: Antara)
