PALM oil waste is has been approved to be useful for the benefit of the people. One most popularly known is it can be used processed into biogas to generate electricity. Biogas produced from palm oil mill effluent could potentially be used to support the state’s power grid as well as for rural electrification project. It would be good as well to achieve  the target of 23% of New Renewable Energy of national energy mix by 2025. Some palm oil companies in Indonesia has develop biogas power plant in their plantation area just like  Asia Agri that has been operating seven units biogas power plant which is generated from palm oil waste. Asian Agri is also planning to build 20 more by 2020. “Asia Agri operates seven units biogas power plant the are generated from palm oil waste,” Dy Head Mill and Engineering Asian Agri, Krisman Sitinjak said in the 8th Indonesia Climate Change Forum and Expo 2018 in Medan, North Sumatera Utara, (19/10/2018), as reported by Antara Sumut. He said that palm oil mills with capacity of 60 ton fresh fruit bunches per hour can generate 2 Megawatt electricity. A part from its capability to maintain the environment, the power plant generated from palm oil waste is also useful to support rural electrification need. ***
