Indonesian Netizens Improve Knowledge of B30
IN TRYING to promote use of B30 fuel, which is projected to be mandated in 2020, the Ministry of Mineral and Energy Resources (MEMR) collaborated with the Indonesia Oil Palm Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS), organized the 13th Netizens Gathering in Medan, North Sumatera, Tuesday (2/7/2019). A number of Indonesian netizens and internet activists gathered to get hands-on knowledge of B30, a a blend of 30 percent by volume biodiesel with 70 percent by volume petroleum diesel.
IN TRYING to promote use of B30 fuel, which is projected to be mandated in 2020, the Ministry of Mineral and Energy Resources (MEMR) collaborated with the Indonesia Oil Palm Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS), organized the 13th Netizens Gathering in Medan, North Sumatera, Tuesday (2/7/2019).
A number of Indonesian netizens and internet activists gathered to get hands-on knowledge of B30, a a blend of 30 percent by volume biodiesel with 70 percent by volume petroleum diesel. Some similar events will also be held in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan and Palembang, South Sumatera.
Themed #MenujuB30, #AnakMedanDukungB30 (#CountdowntoB30, #MedanYouthSupportB30), the event had a presence of several speakers: M. Rizwi Jilanisaf Hisjam, Director of Downstream Oil and Gas Business Development at the MEMR; Muhammad Ferian, Head of Biodiesel Development Division at BPDPKS; KrisNKros, a Youtuber; and was also supported by PTPN IV.
Participants also join a field trip to oil palm plantation operated by PTPN IV to observe palm oil production process. The activities offer netizens to know more about oil palm plantation.
The Government aims to make it mandatory for biodiesel to have a bio-content of 30 percent in 2020 Minister of MEMR Regulation No. 12/2015 on the third amendment to the MEMR Regulation no 32/2008 concerning the provision, utilization, and biofuel commercial system constituting other types of fuel.
Since 13 June 2019, the Government has been carrying out road test which will be completed by October 2019. The road test is conducted by comparing performance of the vehicles before and after using B30. ***
