Govt is Preparing B30 Road Test

HAVING succeeded in implementing expanded B20 mandatory program, the government is now exploring possibility to implement B25 and B30. It needs some procedures to completed which also have to be tested. Lila H. Bachtiar, government official from Forest Industry and Agriculture of Industry Ministry said that the first procedure to be completed is road test for B30 on various type of road. The result of the test will be reviewed for production needs. According to her, a part from problem in application technology, it is also needed to prepare engines. “We will do B30 road test by the end of this month. We will go through road with extreme condition such as in Lembang, Bukittinggi and along Bukit Barisan,” she said in Medan, Monday (8/10/2018), as reported by Kontan. Edy Sutopo, Director of Forest Industry and Agriculture of Industry Ministry stated the same things. He is confident that the government will implement B25 and B30 by 2020. “Government may speed it up. Currently, biodiesel production is using esterfication technology and it will be replaced by using cracking and catalyst technology.” ***
