BPDPKS Participates in Palm Oil International Conference

MEDAN--The Indonesian Oil Palm Estate Fund (BPDPKS) participated in the The 6th International Oil Palm Conference and Exhibition (IOPC) in Medan, Tuesday 17-19 July 2018.

President Director of BPDPKS Dono Boestami attended this conference and delivered a presentation. The conference was inaugurated by Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs Musdhalifah Machmud.

On this occasion, President Director of BPDPKS delivered a presentation about the role of BPDPKS in developing sustainable palm oil. The conference, organized by the Indonesian Palm Oil Research Institute (IOPRI) in colaboration with BPDPKS and palm oil business entities, focused on a principal theme “Smooting the Market Disequilibria: Innovation & Technologies to Challenge the Disequilibria in the Global Market”.

The conference brought together speakers and panelists, Director Council Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) Mahendra Siregar, Thomas Mielke from Germany, Paul Bloemendal from Singapore, Nookiah Rajanaidu from Malaysia, and Kalyana Sundram from Malaysia.

The speaker and panelists spoke their views on sustainable palm oil in Indonesia and regions in the perspective of current global condition. Speakers also had an exchange of views concerning supports to palm oil industry from global community, with or without European Union. Some speakers delivered comprehensive reviews on market outlook and prospect, palm oil contribution to poverty alleviation, etc. ***
